Trekking – Basil Greenhouses
Trekking – Visit to the Prà basil greenhouses. Get ready for a tour that will offer a crossing between history and nature, starting from the small village of Acquasanta a few kilometers from the sea. Located in the hinterland of Voltri, known for its thermal baths and crystal clear water springs, useful for irrigating the typical Ligurian terraces and the operation of the paper mills.
It will be an experience to discover the area with its rural history where the most renowned and appreciated basil in all of Liguria grows, known for its unique aroma.
We will cross breathtaking paths immersed in the typical Mediterranean scrub, between natural canyons, springs and lakes.
We will admire the terraces planted with olive trees and vegetable gardens, up to reach our final goal, a local farm producing basil, from which the so-called green gold of Genoa is produced, pesto.
The farm has been able to maintain the traditions and flavors of the past, using modern and sustainable methods.
After visiting their greenhouses, we’ll prepare and taste the world’s best-selling sauce, the Pesto! The visit will conclude with a tasting menu where guests can sample the typical products of our food and wine tradition.
