Gourmet Tasting
The cooking class of the ancient preparation of Genoese pesto in the mortar, will be accompanied by a tasting with typical and fragrant Genoese focaccia and trofie with pesto, accompanied by an excellent Ligurian white wine.
A Guided Tour Between Beauty and History
The experience begins with a tour in the picturesque village of Nervi, overlooking the charming and romantic promenade named after Anita Garibaldi, two kilometers of terrace overlooking the sea, between the Parks and the rocks. You will be able to admire the extraordinary view of Paradise Gulf and the Portofino Promontory, as well as enjoy the picturesque view of Nervi’s quaint little port.
We will stroll to the historic Villa Bonera, where we will be welcomed by the vice world pesto champion, ready to reveal the tricks and secrets of making traditional pesto using a mortar and pestle.
Exclusive Pesto Cooking Class – The Best Ingredients
The first ingredient we will use, as well as one of the most important, is basil, that is, basil from the greenhouses in the west of Genoa. This is followed by Ligurian extra virgin olive oil, which tends to be sweet and delicately fruity in flavor; fine garlic, preferably that of Vessalico as it is highly digestible; tasty pine nuts; Parmigiano Reggiano cheese; and, finally, an addition of Sardinian pecorino cheese.
Once our pesto is prepared, we can enjoy it with the classic dish of trofie al pesto.
